Lead Software Engineer

PeekAnalytics, d/b/a Statsocial, Inc. is looking for a Lead Software Engineer to join its New York City office.

What you will work on:

  • Develop, install, integrate and configure applications on StatSocial’s analytics platform system
  • Code and test systems programs, using such tools as Java, C/C++, JavaScript, PHP, and Python
  • Develop and deploy multiple technologies, such as Hadoop, Storm, Clustrix, MySQL Cluster, HBase, Cassandra, Cloudbase/Accumulo, Puppet and Chef
  • Prepare test plans for integration
  • Install new programs on test server to troubleshoot and debug programs
  • Execute regression test plans
  • Create test run summary reports for Systems Engineer, to monitor program/system efficiency;
  • Provide acceptance support and troubleshoot post-delivery errors
  • Perform functional system test cycle for corporate solutions
  • Update StatSocial’s functional manuals for new systems applications

What you need to succeed:

  • Masters in Computer Science, Information Systems Engineering, or related + 6 month of related experience or Bachelor’s plus 5 years of related professional experience. US or foreign equivalent degress accepted.

Software Engineering Intern

What you will work on:

  • Design, build and maintain high performance scalable solutions for customers processing Big Data.
  • Optimize and test existing software to enhance and improve performance, functionality and usability.
  • Participate in all aspects of software development activities, including design, coding, code review, unit-testing, and bug fixing.
  • Collaborate with product management and engineering to define and implement requirements for backend services, components and interfaces.
  • Participate in development of features of medium to large complexity, and apply in-depth knowledge to develop high quality code to meet requirements and feature specs to drive customer success.
  • Write, test and document well-structured code which scales and performs well for customers worldwide.
  • Assess risk for predictable outcomes.
  • Identify outside technologies and when to use them.
  • Make recommendations for system and process improvement.
  • Invest time and energy to improve skills and knowledge.

What you need to succeed:

  • Working on a Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree in computer science and 1-3+ years software development experience, or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated proficiency and expertise in software development and debugging.
  • Experience with some or all of the following: PHP, MySQL, Java, GIT, C++.
  • Experience desired with Big Data, streaming technologies, NoSQL, SaaS based environments, Agile/Scrum development, Web Analytics.
  • Must be detail-oriented and demonstrate initiative and high self-motivation. Strong self-management and team-leadership skills. Enthusiastic, creative and positive attitude.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills. Excellent English verbal and written communication skills. Highly collaborative working style.

Sales/Marketing Intern

The Sales and Marketing Intern will work with the VP of Sales, VP of Business Development, and Marketing Manager to gain an understanding of B2B lead generation sales and marketing processes. This opportunity is a part time (25-30 hours weekly) opportunity for Summer 2017 and is available to students who are currently enrolled in an accredited university program.

Applicants must have a prior internship experience to reference in the interview. Applicants must possess the mindset of a self-starter that is willing to ask for and take strategic direction, execute those directions with excellence and proactively seek ways to add their own unique value to those strategies. The applicant must also understand their own ability to control the learning opportunities afforded to them by actively seeking opportunities to learn through this experience.
What you will work on:

  • Prospecting support on behalf of StatSocial
  • Observe sales calls with VP of Sales and VP of Business Development
  • Assist in preparing sales presentations and new client contracts
  • Attend new client kick off sessions
  • Attend client calls with Client Account Managers
  • Assist in preparing new campaign strategies’ including trade shows, email, and outbound calling
  • Assess current campaigns to measure success and profitability
  • Provide support with social media efforts

What you need to succeed:

  • Currently majoring in sales, marketing, and/or business
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • High attention to detail
