On Monday, March 10th, Good Morning America unveiled their new “Social Square” that will engage users by allowing them to enter the broadcast conversation.
The Social Square partners with Google+ Hangouts to create a “Virtual Times Square” for GMA Live. Viewers can leave video and text messages. The space includes broadcasting a live feed from Twitter, Facebook, and Google+ of Viewer comments and questions. GMA also partnered with Samsung and Spotify to produce this space.
While ABC is focused on engagement with this new addition, it will help create brand loyalty with young adults as they start to watch the morning news and select which program they will tune into each morning.
