Social Media Week took place in NYC this week and we tracked the conversation around the speeches and workshops to see who was engaging with the event.


Fifty nine percent of the tweeters this week are women, 41% are men. Most of the tweeters, 32%, are between the ages of 34–44. Although the event took place in NYC, only 22% of tweets were from people in the city, others were keeping up with the conversation and topics from around the world.

Twitter audience. They are 4.6x the average in their interest in freelance writing and 3.2x the average for email technology.

The top brands of this audience are Mashable, Twitter, AOL, Forbes, and Ogilvy. They are 14x more likely to like Adweek than the average audience, 13.6x more likely to like Seamless, and 10.6x more likely to like AngelList.

The favorite celebrities of this audience include Bill Gates, Brian Solis, Gary Vaynerchuk, Richard Branson, and Barack Obama. They are 17.5x more likely to like Jonah Peretti, and 17x more likely to like Dave Kerpen.

Favorite Tv Shows of this audience include Mad Men, Game of Thrones, and The Daily Show.
